Performance Ponies
The Shetland Pony Performance Scheme aims to promote the use of the registered pedigree Shetland as a performance pony and runs a series of Annual Performance Awards.
Grindins competes along side riders 14 years old or younger with Ponies registered in the main body of the Shetland Pony Stud Book. Points are awarded for
sucess in popular events, which qualify as part of the Performance Award Scheme. At the end of the season the pony with the most points wins the Nan French Supreme Pony trophy. Riders compete for other awards based on age, ability or discipline.
Scheme events include lead rein, ridden, jumping, working hunter, dressage, gymkhana and Shetland Pony Grand National.
